WHEN Mark and Janet Warr started to experience increased competition for their kitchen business, they knew it was time for a major shake-up.
They wanted to see increased trade, but they also wanted to benefit from the backing of a well-respected national brand with award-winning marketing services. Mark and Janet were already familiar with the kitchen trade, so they approached Dream Doors to seek the opportunity and method they needed to grow their business.
"We already had a kitchen studio in Harrogate but market conditions in the area had started to become challenging for us and our suppliers. We really felt there must be a better option out there for us.
I’d seen Dream Doors about 18 months earlier in the trade press and they seemed to have a real aptitude for understanding what’s going on in the industry. They seemed to have a better business model in terms of offering national branding."
"With Dream Doors you’ve got national support and there is a more marketing driven approach. Working on your own, you can spend a lot of time doing quotes and getting no business from it. But with Dream Doors we felt it was quite a unique proposition. It is more marketing driven - that’s what appealed."
"It’s become more and more apparent during training how much support there was on every aspect of the job. You don’t feel like you’re on your own. This is all quite new for me, but also very exciting."
Mark and Janet recently had a ribbon cutting ceremony at their Dream Doors showroom in Harrogate and even took an order on the big day.
"We’ve been very busy, which has been lovely. We’ve met a lot of new customers and we even took an order during the opening. It’s been a great start."
“It’s all been go, go, go. We’ve had lots of enquiries coming in via the Dream Doors website and as passing trade."
Dream Doors is looking for more talented franchisees like Mark and Janet to join its ever-growing franchise network.
But the company is at pains to point out that kitchen industry experience isn’t required. In fact, a candidate’s work or educational background is not important – what matters is their ability to learn and follow the tried and tested business model that generates huge profits.
